the weather today was perfekt: sunny, warm, and not a cloud in the sky. what a perfekt time to head down to the beach and soak up some rays.

the beach was full of sun worshippers dancing to some sweet sweet dub sounds.

my friends wanaqui and his partner katie (with the help of some other majik creatures) had set up an alice in wonderland theme camp just off the beach, so i decided to head down the rabbit hole and chill with them.

man, these guys went all out in creating a full on alice in wonderland theme camp. katie was dressed as the queen of hearts, and wanaqui was dressed as the cheshire cat. daam they looked cute.

wanaqui lives on the east shore with the mou kollektiv and is a master at carving wooden staffs. his work inspired me to carve the designs in my staff. i miss my staff :(

there was lots of shaded space, a kitchen, and a fully set up table for a tea party. it was awesome! i kewled out with my kutenai family and played a few games of croquet before heading back to the beach for the highly anticipated performance of schpongle. i wasn't the only one who wanted to hear schpongle play.

the beach wsa packed!

and schpongle rawked it!

his music was a fusion of so many diffferent styles of beats: psy, trance, down tempo, trip hop, electro...it actually was difficult to describe the sound. all i know is that his beats got my ass shakin, and the asses of a couple hundred other music lovers on the beach.

after shpongle's set, i headed to the vendor's area with brett and laura and ran into my old friend t-bone who i went to university with. if he hadn't come up to me, i probably wouldn't have rekognized him.

t-bone lived with my friend marisha at western. marisha was the hippie who first introduced me to 4:20. i haven't seen or spoken with her in almost ten years. seeing t-bone brought back so many fond memories of university and marisha. he encouraged me to google her name and find her.

turns out that tbone lives on salt spring island where he blows glass. he showed me some of his glass pipes that he had with him. he is a very skilled glass blower. as we exchanged contact info, t-bone randnormly gifted me one of his hand blown glass bowls. thank you so much t-bone. it was so amazing to see you!

the holy smoke, the cannabis culture shop in nelson, had set up a booth in the vending area. they were selling a glass gravity bong that you could test drive. i had to try it out, and holy shit it is very very effecktive. gawd i love living in canada.

the sun was setting, so i headed back to our kamp to change into warmer clothes. tonight was my night to roll with elsbeth, and i was so excited.

all dressed up and so many place to go, elsbeth and i headed out for an evening of rockin beatz, shakin our asses, and kissing. its good to have another kissing bandit by my side.

we stopped by the rabbit hole to say hi to the krew there. the entire theme camp was lit up in blacklights making everything glow.

..and the people there are top drawer (and pretty darn cute too)

elsbeth in the rabbit hole

we headed to the beach stage where the band third eye tribe was performing live. they were awesome, especially the woman playing the violin!

beats everywhere! gorgeous people everywhere! beauty everywhere! this place rawkz!

katie had also set up a wishing tree near the rabbit hole. there was paper there, string, and a pen to write down your wish. at night, a blacklight made all of the wishes written on white paper glow.

randnorm art installations that glow at night. aaah, this is gettin me excited for the burn.

we met up with kristin at the village stage where the jungle beatz were being served up by a sexxxy trio of women known as ltc (ladies take control). these girls killed it! slammin jungle and dnb with a female mc. i was impresed!

and kristin looked fabulous with her fun fur boots, fishnets, and lightning wire wingz. fuck you raver!

we stayed at the village stage for the rest of the ltc set, then headed over to the fractal forest to hear lorin bassnectar. i am a big lroin fan. his broken beat, down tempo, hip hop, breakz infused mashup of beatz always gets my ass shakin. loring did not disappoint, but it was difficult for me to enjoy his set becuase of how packed the fractal forest was...it was rammed! you had no space to dance because there were so many people there :(

vinyl ritchie was playing after lorin, so we made sure to hightail it outta there before our ears exploded with whatever crapmo that vinyl ritchei was about to unleash.

we ran into anke as we were leaving the fractal forest.

elsbeth's friend sajay was working at the indian food booth, so we stopped there to say hi.

the village stage was our last stop for the evening. i was gettin a bit tired.

exhausted from an awesome day in the sun on the beach, and an evening of shakin my ass with elsbeth, i decided to call it a night. thank you so much for driving all the way from yellowknife to see me, and for being my dance partner in crime tonight (and kissing bandit). i still can't believe that boy refused to kiss girls...if only he knew what he was missing.

i love you elsbeth!
