~*...celebration and remembrance...*~

a person will continue to exist as long as someone remembers them

essay by mary schmich as popularized by baz luhrmann in 1999

my friend owen's younger sister, cari, passed away last week from her battle with skin cancer. watch cari's story here.

wear sunscreen. simple.

love and blessings to you owen. sending you maad poz vibes from the rockies to the coast.

playin' one of the most fun video games ever, guitar hero 2! like dance dance revolution, but with a guitar.

i've gotten realy good at playin war pigs by black sabbath! fuck yeah! ozzy roolz!

friday was crystal's birthday, so we celebrated together at the bamboo. happy birthday crystal.

misa, its been too long. don't worry, i promise to behave *wink*

the bamboo was packed and rockin some sexxxy and sweet house music. its been a while since i've been out and heard house music. it would be easier to convince kristin to stab herself in the eye with a fork than it would to convince her to go to a house music event. she's kinda particular about music like that (read if it ain't jungle she ain't happy). but for crystal's bday, kristin will not only listen to house music but dance to it too. i saw it with my own eyes!

last night i attended a party put on by the calgary cacophony society. i first heard about this event through our friend pat, who was actually playing at the party. he said he was playing a burner party, but i had heard nothing about it on the calgary burner list. i'm not going to pretend like i know what the fuck i'm talkin' about here, but because of some politrix within this community this party was an invite only event. i guess the burner mentality of radical inclusion is sometimes difficult to practice when people have differing opinions.

the party wasn't very busy, and i definitely noticed a lack of familiar burner faces at this event compared to previous burner parties that i've been to in this town. i had fun, and still ran into people i knew, but i couldn't help but feel that the spirit of the burn was being overshadowed by exclusivity and politrix. maybe i'm just reading too much into this. it wasn't my party, and if the organizers wanted to make sure they knew everone there by making a list then they have every right too. i guess kristin and i aren't on the bad list. hooray!

glow pillows!

reminded me of the glow fur i saw at burning man this year.

glow furnatics unite!

fat pat killin' it with raw jungle beatz

kelsi and kale

daemond showed up with two radiant goddesses, one who was hearing impaired. she was more than impressed with my limited knowledge of sign language. simple conversational signing like "hi, my name is norm" and "good to meet you" sure can put a smile on someone's face. not to mention that she was ridiculoualy cute too ;)

overall it was a fun evening. i'm looking forward to next week's steamer party, the calgary burners who camped across from us last year on the playa. i'm hoping to celebrate with the entire cspot burner community, including the many faces that were missing last night. fuck politrix.

i spent today workin on the invite for kristin's bday party. the theme is a red eye flight, so red clothing is mandatory. i decided to play on the air farina design and came up with this flyer.

its gonna be a fun jam. yay more celebrations!

love and blessings
